New Expectations
It’s a new year and a new set of expectations for Gates of Babylon.
This site was intended to be a source of news, albeit from a different point of view, of what is going on in the world.
And the landing page for the COVID-19 archive.
As anyone who has tried to write about current events knows, it’s not an easy thing to do consistently, because it is personally draining.
It’s not the writing and the research that’s draining, I actually enjoy that side of it, but it’s the toll it takes on you emotionally.
Always dolling out the negative.
If you have any real skin in the game and actually care about what’s happening in the world around you, any sane person is bound to start being affected by it.
It really is a depressing venture especially knowing that there is not much anyone can do about what is going on.
Many in this sphere do it for the money and whether it takes a personal toll on them, is not for me to say, but they also like to sensationalize the story to keep the clicks coming.
I was never in it for the money and will never be either.
Sure, I may put up a tip jar, or suggest a few affiliate links I think would be beneficial, but I’m not going harass my readers with sign up forms and email campaigns.
I fund this site out of my own pocket and maintain it with on my spare time.
To me, it’s all about trying to help keep people informed on what is “really” going on.
Not what they’re hearing on the MSM.
Because as anyone who has eyes to see and ears to hear, know, they are rarely being told the truth.
I will do my best to try to keep the content here current but please don’t expect it to be a place you go for the latest happenings along with a dose of in depth analysis.
I made it as far as March last year trying to do that, and it got to be a little too much and was starting to rattle my nerves.
I was also sidetracked by a business venture and started completing a few projects I’ve been wanting to get done for a while.
But reading the news everyday and realizing how slanted it all is, keeps me coming back to why I started this site in the first place.
People need to hear the truth.
Maybe this time around, I’ll focus more on my own personal views and opinions on what’s going on and not be so focused on the actual finer details of a particular story.
I’ll treat this site more like my personal journal rather than try to be a journalist.
Lord knows that market is already over saturated.
My articles may be sporadic, so it might be easier for you to subscribe to the RSS Feed and let the stories come to you.
Well, that’s all for now, so thanks for reading and sticking with me and let’s see what 2026 brings.
