Royal Dutch Airlines (KLM) decided to jump on the LGBT Pride bandwagon and didn't think it through.
KLM tweeted a photo of three mismatched sets of rainbow-coloured seat belts, one with two “male” tabs, one with two “female” buckle receptacles, and the third with the standard “male-female” clasps. The caption read: “It doesn’t matter who you click with. Happy #PrideAmsterdam”.
But it does matter who you click with, only the combination at the bottom will work. Obviously they missed that, which says a lot about their approach to safety.
A clear case of opportunistic virtue signalling leading to a real marketing fail. KLM is an airline and as such carries passengers. What the sexuality of their passengers happens to be is completely irrelevant.
Everyone should get a first class service for the money they pay.
